Bosanski lonac (recipe)

Bosanski lonac is a traditional Bosnian dish made from meat and vegetables, slowly cooked in a pot. It is perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg beef or lamb
  • 3 potatoes
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cabbage
  • 100 ml vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Bay leaf

Preparation:

  1. Cut the meat into large pieces and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown.
  2. Layer the chopped vegetables and meat in a large pot.
  3. Add salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  4. Pour in water to cover all the ingredients.
  5. Cover the pot and simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours until the meat is tender.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
