Čevapčiči (recipe)

Čevapčiči are traditional Balkan minced meat sausages served with onions, flatbread, and ajvar. They have a rich flavor and aroma, perfect for grilling.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g ground beef or pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 50 ml water
  • Flatbreads, for serving
  • Ajvar, for serving

Preparation:

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground meat, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and baking soda.
  2. Gradually add water, mixing the mixture thoroughly until smooth.
  3. Form small sausages from the mixture.
  4. Heat a grill or pan and cook the čevapčiči for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked.
  5. Serve hot with flatbreads and ajvar.
