
Čevapčiči (recipe)
Čevapčiči are traditional Balkan minced meat sausages served with onions, flatbread, and ajvar. They have a rich flavor and aroma, perfect for grilling.Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef or pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 50 ml water
- Flatbreads, for serving
- Ajvar, for serving
Preparation:
- In a large bowl, mix ground meat, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and baking soda.
- Gradually add water, mixing the mixture thoroughly until smooth.
- Form small sausages from the mixture.
- Heat a grill or pan and cook the čevapčiči for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked.
- Serve hot with flatbreads and ajvar.
