Čorba (recipe)

Classic Čorba is a hearty and aromatic soup popular in Balkan countries. It is made from meat, vegetables, and spices.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g meat (beef or pork)
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt, pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Cut the meat into pieces and fry in a pot until golden brown.
  2. Add chopped onion, carrot, pepper, and garlic, fry until soft.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in 1.5 liters of water, add chopped potatoes, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook over medium heat for about 40 minutes until the meat and vegetables are cooked through.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
