
Čorba (recipe)
Classic Čorba is a hearty and aromatic soup popular in Balkan countries. It is made from meat, vegetables, and spices.Ingredients:
- 500 g meat (beef or pork)
- 2 carrots
- 2 potatoes
- 1 onion
- 1 bell pepper
- 2 tomatoes
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt, pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish
Preparation:
- Cut the meat into pieces and fry in a pot until golden brown.
- Add chopped onion, carrot, pepper, and garlic, fry until soft.
- Add chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, simmer for 5 minutes.
- Pour in 1.5 liters of water, add chopped potatoes, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Cook over medium heat for about 40 minutes until the meat and vegetables are cooked through.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
