
Homemade Sushi Rolls (recipe)
Sushi rolls are a popular Japanese dish that can easily be made at home. It is important to prepare the rice correctly and use fresh ingredients.Ingredients:
- 300 g sushi rice
- 400 ml water
- 5 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Nori sheets
- Salmon or tuna fillet
- Cucumber
- Avocado
- Soy sauce, pickled ginger, wasabi
Preparation:
- Rinse the rice in cold water until the water is clear. Place the rice in a pot, add water, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook covered for 15 minutes. Leave for 10 minutes without removing the lid.
- Transfer the rice to a bowl, add vinegar, sugar, and salt, and gently mix. Allow the rice to cool to room temperature.
- Prepare the filling: cut the fish, cucumber, and avocado into thin strips.
- Place a sheet of nori on a sushi mat, shiny side down. Spread rice evenly over the nori, leaving a 1-2 cm border. Place the filling on the rice.
- Carefully roll up the sushi, using the mat to help shape it. Slice into pieces with a sharp knife.
- Serve the rolls with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
