
Fërgesë (recipe)
Fërgesë is a traditional Albanian dish made from peppers, tomatoes, and cheese, baked to a golden crust. It has a rich flavor and aroma, perfect for a cozy dinner.Ingredients:
- 500 g red and green peppers
- 2 tomatoes
- 200 g fresh cheese or feta
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Dice the peppers and tomatoes, finely chop the onion and garlic.
- In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
- Add the diced peppers and tomatoes, cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add the fresh cheese or feta, stir well.
- Transfer the mixture to a ceramic baking dish and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
