Pastrmka

Pastrmka is one of the most popular fish dishes in the Balkans. This trout, found in many rivers and lakes in the region, is prepared in various ways, but grilling is one of the most beloved methods. The fish is typically served with fresh lemon, parsley, and a variety of roasted vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • 2 fresh trout
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Fresh parsley leaves
  • 2 red bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. Clean and wash the trout. Pat them dry with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium temperature. Brush the fish with olive oil and place it on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  3. Meanwhile, in a pan with a little olive oil, fry the bell peppers, zucchini, and tomatoes until they soften and get a nice color.
  4. Serve the grilled fish on a plate, garnished with lemon slices and fresh parsley. Serve with roasted vegetables.
