
Pljeskavica (recipe)
Pljeskavica is one of the most famous Balkan grilled specialties. This dish is made from minced meat and spices and is perfect for any meal. Here's how you can make pljeskavica at home.Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef
- 250 g ground pork
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried seasoning
- 2 tablespoons sparkling water
Preparation:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and pork. Add the finely chopped onion and garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and dried seasoning.
- Add the sparkling water to the mixture and mix well with your hands until all the ingredients are well combined.
- Shape the mixture into patties about 1 cm thick and 10 cm in diameter. Place them on a plate and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and fully cooked.
- Serve the pljeskavica with chopped onions, fresh tomatoes, parsley, and your favorite side dish.
