Zagorski Štrukli (recipe)

Zagorski štrukli is a traditional Croatian dish made from dough filled with fresh cheese. It is light and aromatic, often served as a main dish or appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 200 ml water
  • 500 g fresh cheese
  • 200 ml sour cream
  • 1 egg for brushing

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, eggs, salt, and water to make dough.
  2. Roll out the dough thin and evenly.
  3. Spread cheese over the entire surface of the dough.
  4. Roll the dough with cheese into a roll and cut into pieces.
  5. Place the pieces on a baking tray, brush with sour cream and egg.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
