
Žganci (recipe)
Žganci is a traditional Slovenian dish made from buckwheat or cornmeal, served with sour cream and cracklings. Simple and hearty, popular in rural areas.Ingredients:
- 500 g buckwheat or cornmeal
- 1 l water
- 1 tsp salt
- 200 g cracklings
- 200 ml sour cream
Preparation:
- Bring water to a boil and add salt.
- Gradually add the flour, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Cook on low heat until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pot.
- Place the žganci in a bowl and drizzle with cracklings and sour cream.
Serve hot and enjoy the traditional taste.
